これほど「芸を覚えたい」と感じたのは人生で二度目である。

一度目は新卒で配属直後、

「明日歓迎会するから何か芸して。あ、役員も来るらしいから」

と、まだ挨拶程度にしか言葉を交わしたことのない先輩に言われたとき。軽く殺意を覚えたと同時に芸を覚えてこなかったことに後悔もした。

 

そして二度目は今日。

今日はトモエ幼稚園の感謝祭だった。感謝祭とは、冬休み前最終日のイベントなのだ。

まずは参加者の持ち寄りで美味しいごちそうが並び、それをいただいくところからスタートする。腹ごしらえが済んだらお楽しみ会の始まり。歌にダンスに演奏に劇、ジャグリングなどなど次々と繰り広げられるパフォーマンス。13時過ぎから17時までみっちりと。何が凄いかって、子どもだけでなく大人も楽しめる・・・いや、楽しんでいるところ。

 

例えば昔懐かしのいす取りゲーム。子どもは幼稚園児と小学生とのグループに分かれて実施。そのあとに大人が本気のいす取りゲーム。お尻で押し合いへし合い、転げ回る大人たち。それを見て子どもたちが大笑いする。

子どもたちばかりでなく大人も参加できてそして本気で楽しめるフィールドが用意されている。ここで楽しまないともったいないのだ。

 

今日、息子を抱いていたら

「よかったら」

と、とあるお母さんに手作りのカエルのお面を手渡された。何気なく受け取ったら、次の出し物に参加してだった。そして出て行っていきなり大人数でカエルの歌の輪唱を歌わされるという。

ぶっつけ本番でも、うまくできなくても、楽しければいい。楽しさをみんなでシェアできればいいのだ。

やりたくもないお遊戯など、一方的に子どもが見世物になっているのではなく、大人も子どもも全員で作り出す場であり、表現する場がここにはある。

 

次々と自己表現をしている大人たちや子どもたちを見て、羨望の念を抱いている自分にふと気がついた。何かしたい。もっとしっかりと楽しさをシェアしたい。

そうだ、来年は何か芸を覚えよう。そういえば2018年、仕事や勉強の目標は立てたけれども、遊びの目標は立てていない。来年、本気で遊ぶ目標を立てよう。そう、子どもと一緒に遊べる何かを。
