ある日突然もらわれてきた

3羽の雌鶏たち。

当初は締められる予定だったけど、

その日を超えていまも共生している。

研修生たいがくんの研修ブログより

来た当初に一時的に設けていた小屋もどきでは

逃げる⇔戻すの

激しいループ。

こーすけさん不在時に任を受けた研修生たいがくん

ひーこは最短の完答よりも

解を導くさまを見てるのが楽しい

マイノリティーゆえに

男性陣がやいのやいのしてるのを観察していました。

（世間的には酷い人間の分類にされるよね笑）

外出や在宅ワークも多い番の家だけに

ある時は帰ってきたら（小屋の外で）目が合う⇒捕獲

ある時はふと窓の外を見ると足りない⇒捕獲

ある時は家の前のバス停でバス待ちをしていた方が

『もしかして鶏飼われてますか？』

と、わざわざ家を訪ねてくれて⇒捕獲

　

3羽の鶏に翻弄される男性陣。

初日は小屋予定のベニヤが鶏たちの振動や風ですぐ崩壊し続けたため、1匹ずつ逃げないようにして夜を越すことに。

お子と相談しつつ、いろんな穴からご飯をあげている笑
動物への愛が比較的深めな8歳は手厚くお世話をしていて、2日目には動きがシンクロし出していました笑

そんな中、

8/9の島牧には大雨と強風がやってきそうな雰囲気に。

小屋に使ってたドアのガラスが倒れた拍子に割れたり、鶏は雨よけを探してソワソワし出したり。

　

研修生のたいがくんも帰っちゃって

こーすけさんひとりで大変そうだったので

お助けひーこをしてきました。

ひーこはおじいちゃんが大工さん

元カレ❶はパーマカルチャーデザイナー

元カレ❷はペンキ屋さんと

割と現場系が多かったので

補助だけはそこそこできるので

2人で簡易小屋を補強したり、ネット張ったり。

　

そこからは脱走も破損もなく

共生中。

鶏との終わりなき逃走劇は

終止符が打たれたけれど、

それまでの数日間がなかったら…ということはなく、

そこまでの数日間がなによりも濃く濃く

存在していました。

鶏たちが期限のあるその時まで過ごしやすい小屋にするにはどれがいいかな、と探すこーすけさん

　

余ってる資材で

どうやったら逃げないかと日々努めてるこーすけさんの姿や

産んでくれるたまごに感謝して

卵かけご飯を食べる夜や。

たまごを産む日と産まない日があることで

鶏の推定年齢を想像したり

お子たちは締めることなく暮らすことを懇願したり

たまごがあったことを報告する4歳

夕方にばかり脱走しようとする理由を

飼ったことのある人に聞いてみたり

毎日のご飯の量や食べるものも観察しながら

考えたり。

大人も子どもも頭と意識を使った日々でした。

今では、

果物を剥いたときの皮や余ったきゅうり、

人間が食べるには美味しくないけど…な食材を

鶏たち用に切る習慣が生まれています。

　

　

あたしたちは

目の前で見ていないだけで

いつだって命を食している。

そしてそれは罪悪感を感じるものとしてではなく、感謝を思う瞬間。

　

　

生命をくれたものへの感謝。

生命を育ててくれている人の時間と愛への感謝。

そしてそれを与えてくれているこの地球の自然への感謝。

　

突然やってきた

サスティナブルなこの生活は

お子たちにとって自然に“生“を学ぶ時間となっている気がします。

2拠点である番の家だから、

近い未来にさよならをする瞬間が来るのだろう。

トラウマになるかもしれないその瞬間は

この鶏たちが授けてくれる最大の学びなんだろな。

シッターを終えてあたしはそばにいないだろうけど、その瞬間をちゃんと感じれますように、と願う。
