今日は遊べない

入園して半年が経ちました。
トモエ幼稚園に通い始めて一番驚いたのは
「すごーい！みんなめっちゃ楽しそうに子どもと遊んでる！」でした。

「あたしそんなに楽しく遊べないぞー」
と思いながら娘を見守る毎日。
とはいえ生後間もない息子がいるので、自ずと彼のお世話優先に。

おぼろげに
「コレでいいのかな？」と考えていました。
そんな先週のことでした。

突然、自分の中の「子どもスイッチ」のようなものがパチン!
娘と、とても楽しく遊べたの日があったのでした。

「トモエに居るときぐらいは上の子との時間を」と息子を抱っこしていてくれるスタッフや先輩お母さんたち。
たくさんの方のてを借りて、みっちり娘との時間を過ごせた月曜日。

一緒にブランコをして
トランポリンをして
あー！なんて楽しいんだろう！
ヤッターーー！コレか！コレなのか！
時間を忘れて10時から17時までびっちり遊びました。

火曜もその流れで
何これ楽しーーー！！！
私が楽しいから、彼女ももちろん楽しい！
まだ緊張していて、トモエではなかなか笑わない娘もビッグスマイル。
昨日に引き続き、オープンラストで最後の１人にになるまで遊んで帰宅。
家に帰ってもとてもご機嫌で、自ら布団に入り１人ですやすや寝入ってしまうほどでした。

いいじゃんいいじゃん。この調子！この調子！

ところが、水曜日
あれ？なんでだろう？
今日は上手く遊べない。
昨日の疲れかな？

そして木曜日
…ん？遊べないどころか
べったりな彼女にイライラするぞ。

金曜日
あーーーなぜ！？
なぜ！？なぜなんだ！
私の「子どもスイッチ」はいずこへー！

週末は私の仕事の都合で、家族Day（１ヶ月に一度お父さんも一緒に登園する日）には孝介と。どんどん悲しそうな顏になっていく娘に罪悪感を感じ、どうにも煮え切らない私がいました。

 

それを察知してか否か娘、翌週早々に発熱。
熱以外の症状はなく、39度が５日間も下がらずぐずぐず甘えているばかり。
思えば下の子が生まれてから５度目の熱でした。
今までは、高熱が出ても翌日にはスコンと下がり、５日も続くなんて生まれて初めて。
「これは世に聞く『不満が風邪になる』というやつ？」と思うも早く治ってほしい気持ちと、甘えさせてあげたい気持ちが行ったり来たり。
優しくしても諭してみても効果なし。

一方息子は、お姉ちゃんが一日中ずっと膝の上を占領しているので、下唇噛み目に涙を溜め一生懸命我慢しているのです…まだ生後３ヶ月なのに。その姿もどうにも切ない。

「どうしたら良くなるの？やっぱりこれってあたしのせい？」と心配していると

まさかの「ママが構ってくれなくなるから熱下げないの！」と娘がいうのです。

「えー！やっぱりあたし！？というか熱コントロールできるの！？」５日間２人に泣かれ続け、抱っこと授乳で重いは疲れ果て、精神的にも肉体的にも相当堪えたのでした。

 

そんな１週間を経て今週ようやく元気になり、久しぶりにトモエに復帰しました。

熱は下がったものの、どうにも解せない気持ちがあったので、いつものように園長室のベビーベットに息子を寝かせながら、ふと園長に「やー、遊べない日があるのはなんでなんでしょうねー？」と話しました。

すると
「はははっ、Cたちももよく言ってるじゃん！『今日は遊べなーい！』って！」
と笑い飛ばされたのでした。

？？？はて？

思い返してみれば確かに。
赤組（年少さん）の女子たちは毎朝の日課のようにやっているのです。
「今日はCちゃんとは遊べなーい！」
「今日は、◯◯とは遊べなーい！」
調子のいい日は「今日は、遊べるよっ♪」と。

私は、いつも傍で見ていてドギマギしていました。
その光景が脳裏に浮かんだ瞬間…

「そうか！私もそれと一緒ということか！」
目から鱗でした。なんてシンプルなんでしょうか。

「私も彼女たちと一緒で、自分の素直な気持ちに正直でいいということなのかー！」
なんでしょう。この爽快感は！
拍子抜けしたと同時に「私も赤組女子と何にも変わんないってことですね~！ハッハッハーーー」モヤモヤしていた日々が嘘のように笑い飛ばせてしまったのでした。

自分の本音を肯定する、自分を素直に表現する。

 

できているつもりでも、意外なところに落とし穴があるものです。
しかも、ハマっている時は自分では気づかない厄介な穴（笑）。

一方、子どもたちは素でそれができている。
更に互いに自然とその本音を尊重し合ってる。すごいなー。

でもトモエ幼稚園には
「おーい！そこ落とし穴だぞー」
落ちても上からさりげなくライトを照らしてくれる園長
「そこねたまに落ちるからね気を付けてね」
ってフォローしてくれるスタッフ
「あるある、あるよー！あたしもそこ落ちたこと」
共感しなぐさめてくれる先輩お母さんたちがいる。

コミュニティでの子育てってすごい！！
あー、なんて心強いんでしょうか。
あー、なんて有り難い。
あー、なんて楽しいんでしょか！
よし！明日も張り切っていくぞー！と意気込んでいたら、、、

ここへきて娘初の「明日はトモエ行かない！」宣言。

おーそうですか、そうですか。
母が自分を素直に表現すると、子も…顕著ですね〜（笑）
